To Beginnings

Every business has a story. For some, the story begins as someone's life long dream. Something they've always wanted—a mission that was written in stone, from the get-go, just for them.

For other businesses, their start kinda just happens. It's like the keys to the kingdom fell into someone's lap who was in the right place, at the right time, with the right talent and the perfect drive.

And then there are those businesses which are started because of the endless possibilities. The founders see the bright lights, laptops on the beach and the opportunity for endless amounts of $$$$$, and it's one or more of these things that persuade them to make that incredible leap.

For us, our story doesn't start with a dream, it didn't fall in our lap nor was it something we yearned for. I mean, don't get me wrong, we're suckers for long walks on the beach as much as the next person, but that's not why we're here. It's not why we exist.

Our story begins with my son, Kayson, who was born 2 months prior to his due date and weighed 3 lbs 11 oz at birth. When it was time for my husband and me to return to work he was still suffering from complications due to his prematurity and, even though our HR documents said it was time to get back to normal, we weren't ready.

The route we had previously cruised so smoothly on was no longer an option. So, we decided to create another path. A path that would give us an opportunity to work with people who had similar stories. Stories of change, drive, passion, sacrifice, defeat & success. People who were fighters, survivors and change agents. We started Kayson to empower people who were hell-bent on creating new paths. People that were just like us.

Every business has a story. It has a reason why it exists.  And, a purpose for its journey. For us, our story begins with Kayson.
